Men's Rugby Hits the Road to Face #4 Penn State

St. Bonaventure men's rugby will travel to Penn State Friday, September 29 to take on the #4 ranked Nittany Lions at 7 p.m. When these teams met in 2015 St. Bonaventure dropped a close game at the Marra Athletics Field Complex, 23-10. The Bonnies make their first trip back to Penn State since 2014 where they lost 81-5 to Penn State in their inaugural Rugby East season.

The Bonnies look to get back into the win column after dropping their last two contests to Wheeling Jesuit and Army, respectively.

"We have established some building blocks and had a good week of practice ironing out mistakes," said sophomore vice captain Christian Artuso. "Now we're looking to hit our stride and show the improvements on the field."

Meanwhile, Penn State is coming off a convincing 97-5 victory over the Delaware Blue Hens, which gained them some national press.

"We performed much better in scrums against Army, and we will look to build on that performance against Penn State," said St. Bonaventure head coach Tui Osborne. "The key will be minimizing handling errors and maintaining the defensive effort we showed in the first half last week."

The Bonnies return home on Saturday, October 8 to face the Mountaineers of West Virginia University. Kickoff for that game is set for 1p.m.
