Bonnies Rugby Welcomes Class of 2008 With a Victory Against New England College

On Saturday October 20, 2018, the St. Bonaventure Men's Rugby team defeated New England College 79-0. The Bonnies had been ranked 20th in the country the week before, and knew they had to show why they are considered one of the best teams in the country. "It was a real team effort," said senior vice captain Kyle Ciquera, "everyone did their job, and we got the win.  We stuck to our game plan and showed what this team is capable of."

The Bonnies are currently ranked 18th in the country. This weekend they travel to Notre Dame College to take on the 15th ranked Falcons. Senior captain Eamonn Matthews says, "As a team we feel prepared. We had two weeks to prep for this game, and really practiced our continuity. If we can stick to the game plan and keep the ball in our hands we should be able put ourselves in a good position to get a win. They are a good team, and so are we. It should be a great game!"

The forwards have been strong for the Bonnies all season, and the backs had their way against New England College. Hopefully the team can carry its momentum into this weekend's game against Norte Dame College.
