ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team dropped the season finale to VCU, 2-0, Saturday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Complex.
The Bonnies and Rams battled to a scoreless first half before two VCU second half scores sent the visitors home with a victory and three points.
VCU broke through on the scoreboard in the 60th minute when Jared Valdes pounced on a rebound opportunity following a free kick from Papa Toure.
The Rams got an insurance goal in the 82nd minute by way of a Bonnies own goal.
Bonnies goalkeeper Jules Dechert kept the Rams off the scoreboard with a pair of diving saves in the 27th and 55th minutes, finishing the contest with a season-high seven saves.
The Bonnies finish the season with a 3-10-3 overall record.
