The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team returns home for a pair of Atlantic 10 matchups at the Marra Athletics Complex Wednesday and Saturday. The Bonnies get the week started Wednesday afternoon, hosting No. 16 Dayton at 4:00 p.m. A-10 play continues Saturday when the Bonnies play host to George Washington also at 4:00 p.m.
Prior to Saturday's contest, the Bonnies will honor its five graduating student-athletes as part of Senior Day – John Engerman, C.J. Takatch, Luca Nicastro, Peter Massaquoi and Hunter Allenbaugh.
BONNIES NOTES
- The Bonnies look to bounce back after a 2-1 defeat at La Salle last Saturday and are looking to end a two-game losing skid.
- Luca Nicastro registered his second goal of the season in the 19th minute of Saturday's contest off an assist from Peter Massaquoi. Nicastro ranks second on the team with five points (two goals, one assist).
SENIOR DAY
- John Engerman has played in 37 career games, making 11 starts in four seasons. During the 2020-21 season, Engerman registered the game-winning goal against Saint Francis (PA). As a freshman in 2019, he appeared in 14 games and made 11 starts, tallying an assist.
- C.J. Takatch is a four-year member of the men's soccer team, playing in 27 career games and making 15 starts. As a senior this season, Takatch has started in all 10 contests, registering four shots. Last season as a junior, Takatch played in 10 games and started five, tallying a pair of assists.
- Luca Nicastro has played in 44 games and made 18 starts during his four-year career at St. Bonaventure. For his career, Nicastro has four goals and five assists for 13 career points. This season, Nicastro is second on the team with five points by way of two goals and an assist. During his sophomore season, he registered the game-winning goal in the season opener against Gannon. As a freshman, Nicastro played in 14 games, making seven starts to go along with a goal and two assists.
- Peter Massaquoi is a four-year member of the soccer team and has appeared in 35 games and made 15 starts throughout his career. This season, Massaquoi has made eight starts and has appeared in all 10 games to go along with a pair of assists. As a freshman in 2019, Massaquoi scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 decision against Army.
- Hunter Allenbaugh is a four-year member of the men's soccer program and has appeared in 23 games during his career, making four starts. As a junior in 2021, Allenbaugh saw time in 12 games and made a pair of starts on defense. Also as a junior, he registered an assist in a road victory at Dayton.
ABOUT DAYTON
- Dayton enters Wednesday's contest ranked No. 16 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Rankings with an 8-0-1 overall record and 2-0-1 in Atlantic 10 play. Dayton was picked to finish sixth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
- The Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in points (83), goals (29) and assists (25). Dayton is outscoring its opponents 29-5 through nine games. Dario Caetano leads the A-10 and is sixth in the NCAA with five shutouts, making a total of 20 saves on the year.
- Forster Ajago (five goals, three assists) and Manny Day (five goals, one assist) lead the way offensively for the Flyers while Andy Sanchez has registered four goals and three assists. Michael Adedokun leads Dayton with five assists.
ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON
- George Washington begins the week 5-4-2 overall and 1-2-0 in A-10 play. The Colonials lone conference win came over Davidson, 1-0, Sept. 17 in Washington. GW is coming off a narrow 2-1 defeat against No. 24 Duquesne last Saturday. The Colonials were picked to finish 12th in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
- Tom Cooklin is tied for the team lead with 12 points by way of three goals and a team-best six assists. Oscar Haynes Brown has five markers to lead the Colonials in goals. Elias Norris and Aaron Kronenberg each have four goals apiece for GW.
- In net, Justin Grady has made 10 starts, making 41 saves which ranks second in the Atlantic 10.

- The Bonnies are off until Saturday, Oct. 15 when they travel to take on UMass at 1:00 p.m.
