ALLEGANY, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure men's rugby team traveled to Fredericksburg to battle Rugby East Conference rival Mary Washington on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The Bonnies had an impressive day, controlling the field in all assets. Between good communication and execution, Bonaventure found success.

The strong early effort resulted in a 22-9 Bona lead at the halftime break.

"It's been great to see some young guys step up and perform for us. We still have work to do in certain areas as we approach the end of our regular season," said Head Coach Tui Osborne.

The pack capitalized on the already-established momentum in the first half and translated it into a dominant second-half showing.

Bonaventure defeated Mary Washington 48-14, the victory boosted the Bonnies to a 5-1 record on the season.

"Despite an arduous trip to Virginia, we played a tough and connected 80 minutes. We carried hard and defended our line, burning the engine and scoring tries until the last minute. We always find areas where we can improve and this was no exception. We know how we can better our team, so the next few weeks will be onerous and immensely beneficial. We will be carrying our heads high, eager for the upcoming tasks," said Captain Rick Rose.

The Bonnies are now set to travel to face the Southern Virginia Knights on Nov, 5.
