Women’s Basketball Falls To Colgate, 66-52

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team suffered a 66-52 defeat to Colgate Wednesday afternoon at the Reilly Center.

Breauna Ware finished with a career-high 13 points for the Bonnies, shooting 6-of-7 from the floor in 26 minutes off the bench.

Colgate (6-5) was able to pull ahead by double digits in the first quarter, using an 18-2 run to take a 14-point lead after the first 10 minutes.

Maddie Dziezgowski's three with 4:13 showing on the clock in the second quarter pulled the Bonnies back within single digits, 25-17.

A 5-0 Colgate run, however, nixed any momentum the Bonnies had, giving the Raiders a 31-18 advantage at the break.

It was more of the same in the second half as the Raiders shot 52.2 percent from the field, growing their lead to as many as 29 in the fourth quarter.

The Bonnies (3-11) showed signs of life in the fourth period, outscoring Colgate 19-9 in the quarter. Ware scored eight of her team-high 13 points in the quarter, playing all 10 minutes of the fourth.

Bona's returns to action after the Christmas holiday to host Buffalo Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 4:00 p.m. at the Reilly Center.
