BUFFALO – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell to Canisius, 85-47, Wednesday evening at the Koessler Center.

Nadechka Laccen and I'yanna Lops paced the Bonnies offensively with 12 points each. Laccen finished 4-for-17 from the floor to go along with seven rebounds and four steals.

The two sides traded baskets over the first 10 minutes with the hosts taking a 19-12 edge after one.

Canisius took control of the first half in the second quarter, powering out to a 40-15 lead thanks to a 15-0 run that spanned over four minutes.

The Bonnies, however, closed the second quarter on an 11-3 run, shrinking the deficit to 43-25 at halftime.

The Griffs shot 9-for-15 from beyond the arc in the first half to pull away from the Bonnies.

The offensive onslaught continued into the second half as the Golden Griffins started the half shooting 6-for-7 from the field and 3-for-3 from three-point range, opening up a 28-point advantage midway through the third.

Canisius' lead grew to as many as 35 points with just over eight minutes to play in the contest, pulling away for the victory.

The Griffs were led by Dani Haskell who finished with 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds.

The Bonnies are back in action Friday, Dec. 9 at the Reilly Center when they host Binghamton. Tip is slated for 7:00 p.m.
