VALPARAISO, Ind. – The St. Bonaventure University baseball dropped a doubleheader at Valparaiso Friday afternoon. The series between these two teams was originally scheduled for three games, but due to inclement weather Saturday's game was canceled.
Senior left-hander
Liam Devine threw four innings of seven hit ball, giving up three earned runs and striking out three in game one.
Brendyn Stillman opened up the game one scoring in the top of the first with a single through the right side,
Jackson DeJohn scored on an error by the Valparaiso right fielder.
In the next at bat Stillman scored on a double from
Danny Manion.
Jack Putney and
Luke Roggenburk hit their first collegiate home runs in game one of the doubleheader.
Freshman reliever
Gabe Watts threw 1.1 innings striking out one out of the bullpen.
In game two
Tripp Breen (3.0 IP/three hits/six strikeouts) started on the bump for St. Bonaventure.
Bryce Hediger,
Ryan O'Connell, and
Jacob Yager (2.2 IP/one hit/one strikeout) pitched innings out of the pen.
At the plate
Ben Berger,
Jackson DeJohn,
Jack Putney, and
Aaron Herbst each collected a hit for the Bonnies.
The Bonnies will compete against Penn State in a single game on Wednesday, March 30. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
