Bonnies Stumble in Series Finale Against George Washington

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University softball team dropped the series finale to George Washington, 8-0, Saturday afternoon at Joyce Field.

The Colonials struck first to take an early lead, scoring on an error in the top of the second.

Mia Parker extended the GW lead to 3-0 in the top of the third with a two-run home run to left-center field.

George Washington (16-10, 9-0 A-10) posted five runs in the top half of the fifth highlighted by a Maddie Greco grand slam, giving the visitors the series sweep.

Ally Haskell started in the circle for the Bonnies (3-17, 1-8 A-10), allowing just two hits and two earned runs. Emily Phelan (1.1 innings, four hits) and Tierney Fitzgerald (0.2 innings, one hit) pitched in relief for the hosts.

The Bonnies return to Joyce Field Wednesday, March 30 with a non-conference doubleheader against Niagara beginning at 3:00 p.m.
