Singles Play Keys Bonnies Victory Over Siena, 4-3

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Strong singles play led the St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team as the Bonnies defeated Siena, 4-3, Sunday afternoon at the SBU Fitness Center.

The hosts started strong, taking the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.

Sunday's match came down to a pair of three-set thrillers going in the Bonnies favor.

At No. 1 singles, Stijn Paardekooper battled to a 6-2, 6-7, 15-13 win over Dante Russo while Luke Young secured the overall team win at No. 6 singles, winning 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, over Marvin Oberli.

Also winning a key singles match for the Bonnies was Norka Sanchez, defeating Maxwell Arci in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

The Bonnies are back in action Friday, March 11 at home against Niagara. That match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
