ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches Friday and Sunday against Cleveland State and Army.

The Bonnies fell to the Vikings, 5-2, Friday afternoon at the SBU Fitness Center and then dropped a 4-3 decision Sunday morning to the Black Knights in West Point, N.Y.

Against the Vikings, Stijn Paardekooper battled to a straight-set, 7-6, 6-4, victory at No. 1 singles. Also winning for the Bonnies was Luke Young, taking down Austin Staiger, 6-4, 6-4, at the No. 6 flight.

In the Bonnies second match of the weekend, Army was able to sneak away with the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.

Paardekooper and Young were both again victorious in singles action for the Brown and White while William Schneideman also earned a singles win, all in straight sets.

Army, however, grabbed wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 to earn the match.

The Bonnies are back in action Friday, April 15 on the road at Richmond.
