KINGSTON, R.I. – The St. Bonaventure University softball team fell to Rhode Island, 3-0, in the series finale Sunday afternoon on the road.
The Rams kicked things off in the bottom of the first with an RBI single, taking an early 1-0 lead.
Rhode Island (9-23, 4-10 A-10) tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the third from a single and a fielder's choice.
That would be enough for Rams starter Liz Lynchard who kept the Bonnies (7-25, 1-14 A-10) at bay, allowing just two hits on the afternoon.
Ally Haskell tossed a complete game for the Bonnies, walking two.
The Bonnies return to Joyce Field Wednesday, April 13 for a non-conference doubleheader against Youngstown State. First pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
