SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis downed Colgate, 4-3, Saturday afternoon in a neutral court match at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse.
After falling behind, 3-0, the Bonnies were able to win the last four singles matches to earn the comeback triumph.
Anastasia Gubanova was the first Bonnies player to claim victory Saturday, taking down Katerina Atallah in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4 singles. Up next was Amelia Haley at No. 2 singles, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
Paula Velilla pulled the team score even at 3-3 with her straight set, 6-3, 6-2, triumph at No. 6 singles.
Bonnies freshman Floor Lissone completed the comeback effort with a 7-6, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Rebecca Wolf.
The Bonnies return to action Friday, April 15 on the road at Richmond.
