The Spiders had other ideas as Johnny Hipsman doubled to left field and Jake Elbeery singled up the middle to rally in their last at-bat.
St. Bonaventure tallied an early 3-1 lead after two innings with the help of a bases loaded walk by
Danny Manion and sacrifice flies from
Garrett Boldt and
Ben Berger.
Richmond tied things up at three in third inning with an RBI groundout and an RBI double.
Pierce Hendershot would give the Bonnies the lead again with a double in the bottom of the sixth inning, plating a pair.
On the hill, senior

Game 3 – Richmond 8, St. Bonaventure 4
St. Bonaventure and Richmond went back-and-forth for much of the finale on a rainy morning Sunday.
Richmond scored a run in the first, but a
Jackson DeJohn sac fly followed a triple from
Garrett Boldt for the tie.
The Spiders took the lead with two in the third, but the Bonnies immediately responded with a two-RBI double down the right field line off the bat of
Matthew Williams.
Once again in the fourth, the Spiders plated a run but Boldt tied the game with a run-scoring single through the right side.
Unfortunately for the Bonnies, as the rain began to fall in the sixth, the Spiders scored twice for the lead they would not relinquish.
Tripp Breen tossed eight innings, allowing five runs with four strikeouts.
