ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Nine St. Bonaventure student-athletes were honored as part of the MAAC Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams while 24 received All-Academic Team accolades, both conference-highs, officials announced Wednesday.

Sean Westley received Co-Offensive Player of the Year, Brett Dobson Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Randy Mearns Coach of the Year.

In addition to the major conference awards, Westley was named to the conference's First Team attack alongside teammate Jake Rosa while Zack Belter was First Team defense and Dobson First Team at goalkeeper. Jackson Rose (attack) and Austin Blumbergs (midfield) were selected to the Second Team. A trio of Bona's first-year players were recognized on the All-Rookie Team as well: Trent Grainger, Anthony Cimino and Conor Murphy.

Rosa, last year's Offensive Player of the Year and this year's Preseason Player of the Year, finished the season among the conference leaders in nearly every offensive category despite missing the final two and a half games due to injury.

Despite playing in only 11 games, Rosa stood fourth in the league in points (39) and assists (15) as well as 10th in goals (24). He scored in nine of 11 games played this year, including multiple goals in eight contests. He tallied a season-best seven points against Manhattan and also scored six points each in victories over Bellarmine and Hampton. In four conference games, he registered 14 points and nine goals.

Rose takes all-conference recognition for the first time following his best career season. The fourth-year Bonnie led all MAAC players with 34 goals this year, three clear of anyone else in the league, and he was one of just two players in the conference to surpass 30 goals for the 2022 campaign.

A year removed from scoring all four of his 2021 goals on the power play, Rose was a breakout success this spring: he led the nation in shot percentage (.567) and notched hat tricks in nine of 13 contests, including a season-high four goals three times: at Saint Joseph's, at Cleveland State and at Siena. For his career, he stands second in school history for goals (53) and his goal total for this year is a Bona's record.

Belter lands on the all-conference squads for the second year in a row and on the First Team for the first time.

Despite missing all of non-conference action due to preseason injury, Belter has again keyed one of the nation's top defenses. Belter ranked third among all MAAC players with 10 caused turnovers in six league games, including multiple caused turnovers in four games. Bona's stands fourth nationally in scoring defense, surrendering just 8.9 goals per game.

Again one of the top two-way players in the conference, Blumbergs picks up all-conference credit for the third time in his Bona's career. He served as one of the team's scoring leaders, netting 17 goals and 21 total points while also collecting 10 groundballs. He tallied a career-high four goals in a win over Cleveland State and another hat trick in a triumph over Bellarmine. Blumbergs also stands fifth in school history with 57 career points.

Grainger made a huge impact in his first collegiate season at the faceoff X. He stands second among MAAC faceoff specialists with a 54 percent winning percentage, capturing 116 faceoff victories. The freshman was instrumental in a huge Bonnies improvement in faceoff success this year as the program had never finished a season with better than a 37 percent percentage as a team during its first three years at the Division I level. During the season, he was named MAAC Faceoff Specialist of the Week three times.

An immediate contributor in his debut campaign, Cimino has played in all 13 games with 13 assists and 14 total points. He stood tied for seventh among all MAAC players in helpers this spring and he received Rookie of the Week accolades following the penultimate game of the regular season when he finished with three points in a crucial victory at Quinnipiac, including his first career collegiate goal.

Murphy also has made his presence felt offensively as a freshman. He has played in all 13 games this year as well, notching six goals and eight assists for 14 total points, tied for fifth on the roster. He tallied points in five of six MAAC games, including a pair of assists at Quinnipiac and a goal and an assist vs. Canisius as the Bonnies secured their spot as the league's top seed. He also scored twice in a victory over Manhattan.
