ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – A trio of St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse student-athletes have earned selection to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team: Aiden MacDonell, Patrick Shanahan and Onenioteko:wa Maracle.

MacDonell earned his undergraduate degree in Strategic Communication and posted a 3.90 GPA while receiving his master's in Sport Administration this spring. A three-time Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll selection, the Toronto native started in every game he played this year with 11 caused turnovers and 20 groundballs. The defensive standout ranks fifth in school history with 31 caused turnovers and was selected in last fall's National Lacrosse League Draft.

Shanahan, who was named to last year's CSC Academic All-District Team as well and is a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team selection, owns a 3.89 cumulative GPA as a Biology major. This year, he started every game and registered 25 goals along with eight assists for 33 total points, good for second on the team. He stood 10th among all Atlantic 10 players in total goals and also scooped up 24 groundballs on the year.

A native of Bayport, N.Y., Shanahan tied a Bonnies program record by scoring at least one point in 13 consecutive games to end the year. He set a season high with six points in an A-10 game at Delaware and tallied multiple points in four of six conference contests. Shanahan currently stands third in Bonnies career points (79) and fourth in goals (56).

Maracle earned his Masters in Sport Administration this spring with a 3.57 cumulative GPA after working in Sport Studies as an undergrad. Also an Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll member in each of the past three years, he played in 34 career games with the Bonnies and recorded career highs in goals (6) and points (8) in 11 games this season before missing the end of the year due to injury.
