The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team travels to take on George Mason Saturday, Sept. 17, beginning Atlantic 10 play. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
BONNIES NOTES
- The Bonnies are coming off a 2-0 loss to Cleveland State Monday evening at the Marra Athletics Complex. The Vikings netted goals in the 35th and 68th minutes to take the game from the Bonnies.
- Bona's is slated to play its next three out of four games on the road. This includes a trip to Little Three rival Niagara Sept. 21 and then a stop at La Salle Oct. 1. The Brown and White will host Fordham Sept. 24.
- Five different Bonnies have recorded a point so far this season. Matthew Wrobel leads the way with six points on three goals. Behind him is Rafael Pereira with three points, tallying a goal and an assist. Luca Nicastro (one goal), Thomas Yegbor (two assists) and Peter Massaquoi (one assist) round out the scoring.
- Yegbor currently ranks eighth in the Atlantic 10 with his two assists.
WROBEL NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
- Sophomore forward Matthew Wrobel was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Monday afternoon after scoring three goals in two games for the Bonnies last week.
- Wrobel tallied both goals in the Bonnies' 2-0 win over Binghamton Sept. 5 and then registered the game-tying goal against Canisius last Friday on the road.
- Wrobel currently ranks fifth in the A-10 in goals and is 10th in points.
ABOUT GEORGE MASON
- The Patriots enter Saturday's contest 1-3 overall on the year with their lone win coming over Radford, 3-1, Sept. 10. George Mason has suffered losses to Old Dominion (1-0), American (2-1) and Penn State (3-1) this season.
- George Mason finished last season with a 2-13-1 overall record and 0-8 in A-10 play. The Patriots were picked to finish 13th in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
- Noah Raphael leads the Patriots this season with two goals on three shots. Ariel Aguas and Ahmed Mohamed have each registered a goal and assist this year for George Mason. In net, Jake Langley has made four starts, making 14 saves.
