BONNIES NOTES
- The Bonnies look to bounce back and end a two-game skid after falling to Cleveland State last Monday before dropping the Atlantic 10 opener at George Mason Saturday.
- Sophomore Matthew Wrobel registered his fourth goal of the season Saturday evening against the Patriots. His four scores rank third in the Atlantic 10 and 28th in the NCAA while his eight points ranks seventh-best in the A-10. Wrobel has played in five games this year after missing the first two due to injury.
- Senior Luca Nicastro tallied his first assist of the season at George Mason, setting up Wrobel's goal off a free kick on the chalk line of the box. Nicastro now has three points on the year after scoring a goal against Bucknell.
ABOUT NIAGARA
- Niagara enters the week with a record of 1-5-1 on the year. The Purple Eagles have lost their last two contests, falling to Cornell (2-1) and No. 16 Syracuse (1-0). Niagara's lone win of the 2022 campaign came against Stonehill, 3-2, in early September. The Purple Eagles were picked to finish sixth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference preseason poll.
- Rodrigo Almeida leads the way offensively for Niagara with three goals while Alberto Sanchez Cervera has a pair of scores. Stephen Hasse paces the Purple Eagles with three assists.
- Jamie Barry and Josh Savoni have split time in net this season. Savoni has made four starts, stopping 12 shots while Barry has started three contests and has made 18 saves.
- Wednesday marks the 48th meeting between the Bonnies and Purple Eagles. The Brown and White lead the all-time series with a 31-12-4 record over Niagara. The Purple Eagles, however, have won the last two meetings, defeating the Bonnies 3-2 last season and 3-1 in 2019. The Bonnies' last victory over Niagara was a 1-0 result in 2018.
ABOUT FORDHAM
- Fordham comes into Saturday's matchup 2-1-4 overall and 0-0-1 in Atlantic 10 play. The Rams are coming off three straight draws against Rhode Island (2-2), Loyola Maryland (0-0) and UMBC (2-2). Fordham's two victories have come against Manhattan (3-1) and Long Island (2-1). The Rams were picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
