Komori, Alexander Each Find Back of The Net In 2-2 Draw With St. Francis Brooklyn

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team ended their second consecutive game in a tie as the host team finished deadlocked at 2-2 against St. Francis Brooklyn Sunday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Complex.

The Bonnies (2-0-4) opened up the scoring up in the 35th minute with freshman Ami Komori's third goal of the season.

Komori received a beautiful lead pass from fellow freshman Isabella Jeppesen and ripped a shot into the upper right-hand corner of the net. This assist by Jeppesen marks her first collegiate point.

St. Francis Brooklyn would get a late goal in the first half off a corner kick from Jess Rodriguez that was headed into the net by Alina Graf to knot the score up at one apiece going into halftime.

The Terriers (1-3-2) grabbed a 2-1 lead when Margaret Motolese made a touch pass to Lauren Taylor in the box and Taylor was able to tap it past sophomore goalkeeper Chiara Gottinger.

St. Bonaventure would answer with a goal from Chanel Alexander in the 76th minute of the game.

Senior Kenzie Tarmino sent a free kick from midfield into the box and Alexander collected it on one bounce and sent it over the Terriers' goalkeeper.

The Bonnies were led in shots by Alexander and junior Lydia Choban who each tallied three shots.

Gottinger finished the game with eight saves, bringing her total to 49 stops on the year. The second-year net protector came into this game ranked second in total saves among Division I goalkeepers, trailing only Taylor Thames of Cal State Northridge.

Lauren Taylor recorded four shots for St. Francis Brooklyn, while Samantha Kipperman and Kendra Rust each tallied three shots.

Senior goalkeeper Klil Keshwar made five saves for the Terriers.

The Bonnies continue their homestand with their fourth straight contest on home turf against rival Canisius on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
