The St. Bonaventure University women's soccer team will host Little Three rival Canisius for a fourth consecutive home game on Wednesday, Sept. 7. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.

STILL UNBEATEN
- The Bonnies played to a pair of draws with Youngstown State and St. Francis Brooklyn this past week to extend their unbeaten streak to six games to start the 2022 campaign.
- The last time St. Bonaventure was unbeaten in six straight games was during the 2002 season.
- Thursday's game against the Penguins finished in a scoreless draw with sophomore goalkeeper Chiara Gottinger recording her ninth career shutout and third shutout of the season.
- The Brown and White ended Sunday's game against St. Francis Brooklyn in a 2-2 tie.
- Freshman Ami Komori opened up the scoring for the Bonnies, coming off an assist from fellow freshman Isabella Jeppesen. This assist by Jeppesen marks her first collegiate point.
- After trailing 2-1 in the second half, sophomore Chanel Alexander scored off a beautiful free kick pass from senior Kenzie Tarmino.
TEAM LEADERS
- Early on this season Komori leads the team in goals (three), points (seven), and shots (15).
- Tarmino has dished out a team-high two assists.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
- Gottinger leads the nation in total saves among all Division I goalkeepers with 49 stops.
- The second-year net protector is fourth in the nation and first in the Atlantic 10 in saves per game (8.17).
- The Pirching am Traubenberg, Austria native is nationally ranked 19th and second in the conference with three shutouts this season.
- Gottinger is also second in the conference with a 91 percent save percentage.
ABOUT CANISIUS
- The Golden Griffins finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 0-15-2 and 0-10 in conference play.
- Junior Tiani Fonoti led the team last year with eight points on four goals, while sophomore Erin Weir dished out three assists.
- In net, Jessica Jones (54 saves) and Jordan Spencer (39 saves) split time last year.
- Canisius played a scoreless draw at Colgate on Sunday.
- Fonoti leads the team early in the season with two goals, while Skylar Cornell and Emily Brewer each tallied a goal apiece.
- Jordan has started four games between the pipes for the Golden Griffins, recording 16 saves.
- In the 2022 MAAC Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll Canisius was selected to finish 10th.
- In their last matchup to open the season up last year, St. Bonaventure and Canisius played to a double overtime scoreless draw.
UP NEXT
The Bonnies will have seven days off before beginning conference play at home against Fordham on Thursday, Sept. 15. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
