ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Bonnies women's soccer head coach Ray Leone has announced the hiring of Ashlyn O'Shea as assistant coach for the upcoming St. Bonaventure season.
"Bringing Ashlyn on is an important step forward for our program," Leone said. "We are building something special and she's a big part of that vision. I know that coaching is in her blood. Her energy, compassion and desire to get better every day is exactly what we want in our program."
O'Shea joins the Bonnies after serving as a volunteer assistant at Syracuse University this past season.
In addition to working at a number of soccer camps in recent years, O'Shea was a staff member with Soccer For Success, a program that emphasized youth development. She is active with youth soccer in the Syracuse area.
She has earned United States Soccer Federation (USSF) licenses for 4v4, 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11. She owns a USSF D license and is working toward a C license.
During her collegiate career, she played at Buffalo where she helped the Bulls to the Mid-American Conference championship in 2022 as a midfielder and defender. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in coaching in 2023 and went on to receive a Master's degree in sport coaching with an emphasis in sport psychology from the United States Sports Academy in 2024.
A U.S. Soccer Training Center participant from 2014-17, she comes from a coaching family. Her father, Nick O'Shea, coached at Oakland from 1995-2014 while her mother, Leslie-ann Graham, played for the Canadian National Team.
