ANNAPOLIS, MD – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team split a pair of matches to begin the 2023 spring season Friday and Saturday.

The Bonnies took down the Loyola (MD) Friday evening, 5-2, but fell to Navy Saturday, 5-2.

Bona's kicked off the spring season by taking the doubles point from Loyola, sweeping all three matches away from the Grey hounds. Archie Graham and Rasmus Egehus teamed up for a 6-2 victory at No. 1 while Norka Sanchez and Hugo Cochlin captured a 6-4 win at No. 2. Connor Turner and Anargha Ganguly completed the sweep with a 6-3 triumph at No. 3.

In singles action, Graham, Ganguly, Turner and Sanchez were victorious, giving the Bonnies the team victory. Ganguly, Turner and Sanchez all bested their opponents in straight sets while Graham battled back from a set down to win in three-sets.

Against Navy, the Bonnies (1-1) were once again able to get out to a fast start, taking wins at No. 1 and No. 3 and earning the doubles point.

Luke Young captured his first win of the spring with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 6 in singles action.

The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, Jan. 28 at Cleveland State.
