ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team concluded the 2023 season with a 3-2 loss to George Washington on Sunday. Â

After a scoreless opening frame, the Revolutionaries and the Bonnies combined for five goals in the second half.Â

St. Bonaventure kicked things off in the 46
th minute as graduate student
Haylee Smith finished off a cross from sophomore
Olivia Allen. The goal is the first of Smith's career. Allen found Smith inside the six-yard box with a cross from the wing and Smith did the rest with a diving effort to beat the GW keeper.

After GW scored the equalizer in the 67
th, the Bonnies pulled ahead once again just under a minute later as Allen slotted her shot past the Revolutionaries keeper for her sixth goal of the year off an assist from
Rachel Hutchison.Â

Allen finishes the year with the most points on the Bonnies roster with 18 (six goals, six assists).Â

GW answered with two more goals in the 69
th and 80
th minutes.Â

St. Bonaventure recorded eight shots to GW's 10 while senior goalkeeper
Mackenzie Nolan made three saves in her third start of the year.Â

The Bonnies honored their four Class of 2024 members,
McKenna Robinson,
Alexa Martinos,
Mackenzie Nolan, and
Lydia Choban prior to the game. Sunday marked the last game for graduate students
Haylee Smith,
Christine Napoli,
Rachel Hutchison,
Amber Achladis, and
Kenzie Tarmino as well.Â
The Bonnies finish the year 3-8-6 overall and 2-6-2 in the Atlantic 10.Â
