Bonnies Fall in NCR Final

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure came up short in the Division I NCR National Championship game Saturday evening. 

 

Bonaventure started strong and matched the energy of the rival NDC Falcons. The contested first half saw the Bonnies strike with senior Will Hogan scoring an impressive try.  

 

The Falcons led the Bonnies 16-5 at the halftime break. 

 

In the second half, the Bonnies showed heart and grit by never giving up despite the difference in points. 

 

The Falcons topped Bonaventure by a final score of 35-10. 

 

"It wasn't the result we hoped for but we battled to the very end against a formidable Notre Dame College. I'm immensely proud of our men, especially our seniors, whose exceptional leadership guided us throughout the season," said Head Coach Tui Osborne. 

 

Osborne also said the following about the roster and support for the team, "We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the players who were unable to join us this past weekend as you were a huge factor in preparing for every match this season. We're very grateful to the university, our dedicated fans, supportive families, and loyal alumni for standing by us. A special and sincere appreciation to our sponsors, the Black Dog, for their unwavering support and belief in our team's journey."

 

The Bonnies wrapped up an impressive season with several high points to represent their efforts. Most notably, the program's first victory over Army during the regular season.
