MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell to unbeaten West Virginia, 90-50, on the road Saturday afternoon.
Dani Haskell paced the Bonnies with 11 points while Nadechka Laccen chipped in 10 points. Isabellah Middleton and Claire Cody tallied eight points each.
Haskell was able to put the Bonnies on top early, 10-8, with her second 3-pointer of the first quarter with just under seven minutes on the clock.
West Virginia (7-0), however, used an 8-0 run to take an 18-10 lead just four minutes later.
The WVU lead grew to 36-20 in the second quarter before Claire Cody was able to halt the run with a three from the corner with 6:16 remaining in the first half.
The hosts held the Bonnies (2-6) scoreless for nearly five minutes spanning from the second quarter to the third as the Mountaineers grew their lead to 54-27.
West Virginia would hold on to its double-digit lead, earning the victory.
JJ Quinerly finished with a game-high 21 points to lead the Mountaineers.
The Bonnies are back in action on the road Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Cornell. Tip is slated for 7:00 p.m.
GAME NOTES
- The Bonnies finished the contest shooting 36.8 percent (21-for-57) from the floor while West Virginia shot 55.4 percent (31-for-56) from the field.
- Bona's was narrowly outrebounded by the Mountaineers, 32-31.
