HAMILTON, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell to Colgate, 58-45, Thursday afternoon at Cotterell Court.
Dani Haskell paced the Bonnies with 15 points while Nadechka Laccen tallied 10 points.
Colgate was able to take control of the contest early on, growing its first quarter lead to as many as 13, 22-9.
The Bonnies, however, used a 9-0 run in the second period to cut the deficit down to four, 22-18, after a Haskell three.
The Raiders stifled the Bonnies offense, taking a 32-22 lead with a 6-0 run to end the first half.
The Brown and White pulled within four, 36-32, after a layup from Haskell early in the third quarter, but back-to-back baskets from the Raiders put the hosts back up by eight.
Colgate (6-4) used a 7-0 run to end the third, taking its advantage back to double-digits, 43-32.
The hosts held onto their double-digit lead in the fourth quarter, earning the victory.
The Bonnies (3-8) begin Atlantic 10 play Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Reilly Center when they host Loyola Chicago. Tip is slated for 1:00 p.m.
