WILMINGTON, Del. – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell to Davidson in the first round of the 2023 Atlantic 10 Tournament, 70-51, Wednesday evening at CHASE Fieldhouse.
Taylor Napper led the way for the Bonnies, posting a career-high 17 points and nine rebounds. Nikki Oppenheimer chipped in 13 points for the Brown and White.
Davidson was able to jump out to an early double-digit advantage in the first quarter, opening the game on a 15-4 run over the first 4:10.
The Wildcats lead grew to as many as 18 with 1:39 remaining in the first half.
The Bonnies, however, closed the half on an 8-0 run, cutting the deficit to 10 at halftime, 38-28.
Napper got the Bonnies going in the second half to make it an eight-point game early in the second half.
Davidson responded with a 9-0 spurt to pull back ahead by double digits.
Oppenheimer's 3-pointer with 7:37 remaining in the contest brought the Bonnies back within nine, 57-48.
Bona would never get closer as Davidson closed the game on an 11-3 run, earning the victory.
The Bonnies finish the season 6-26 overall and 3-13 in Atlantic 10 play.
