ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team earned a victory over Marist in a trio of weekend matches at the SBU Fitness Center.

The Bonnies kicked off the weekend with a 5-2 win over the Red Foxes Thursday evening. Bona's fell to Duquesne, 4-3, Friday morning and dropped Sunday's match to Dayton, 6-1.

The Brown and White were able to sweep doubles against Marist to take an early 1-0 team lead.

In singles action, Alexandra Jansson, Anastasia Gubanova, Sienna Smith and Kashish Bote all captured wins to give the Bonnies the team victory.

Moving to Friday, the Bonnies took an early 1-0 team lead over the Dukes, taking the doubles points with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.

Jansson and Gubanova went on to earn singles victories against Duquesne, but the Dukes took wins at No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to earn the Atlantic 10 victory.

In Sunday's action against the Flyers, Bote bested Jordan Mitchell at No. 6 singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0.

The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, April 15 on the road at George Mason.
