TV: ESPN+
The St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team finally returns home for the first time in nearly a month when the Bonnies host Saint Joseph's Saturday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Complex. St. Bonaventure has not played a home game since March 11, playing the last four contests away from home.
Â
HOME SWEET HOME
- The Bonnies have won their last 11 of 14 games at the Marra Athletics Complex dating back to the 2021 season.
- Bona's had a nearly two-year home winning streak snapped at the hands of Binghamton in overtime (12-11) in the home opener this season. Prior to that, Bona's last setback at home was two seasons ago, by one goal, 5-4, to Quinnipiac on March 27, 2021.
- The Brown and White got back on track against VMI with a 15-9 victory on Feb. 25. Cleveland State scored a win over the Brown and White in the last home game March 11.Â

RACING TOWARD A RECORD
Bonnies freshman
Quinn Nolan added 16 faceoff wins to his season total in his Atlantic 10 debut last weekend and now owns 107 victories at the faceoff X for the season. He's quickly closing in on the Bonnies season record of 129 set last year by
Trent Grainger.
Nolan will face a tall task on Saturday as he faces one of the nation's top faceoff specialists in Hawks grad student Zach Cole.
VETERAN LEADERSHIP
Three of the nation's top scorers will take the field in Saturday's game. Levi Anderson (28
th) and Matt Bohmer (33
rd) along with Bona's
Sean Westley (36
th) rank in the nation's top-40 for Division I active scorers. Anderson enters the weekend with 151 career points while Bohmer checks in with 146 points. Westley is the Bonnies all-time career points leader with 143 tallies. Among Atlantic 10 players, Anderson is tied with Richmond's Dalton Young for the most total career points with Bohmer and Westley coming right behind.
Westley, though, leads all Atlantic 10 players with 60 career assists, just ahead of Young's 59 while Anderson and Bohmer check in with 56 and 43 career helpers respectively.
Â
TURNOVER TALE
Bonnies grad long pole
Zack Belter has been among the conference leaders in caused turnovers during his five-year career. This time, he's near the top of the Atlantic 10 in caused turnovers per game, causing 1.1 per contest. He enters this weekend with 59 CTs for his career, most in school history.
Â
TONY'S TALLIES
Sophomore
Anthony Cimino recorded his first multi-assist game of the year last Saturday at Hobart. The 2022 MAAC All-Rookie Team selection totaled four such contests last year as a freshman.
Â
BACK IN THE LINEUP
The Bonnies added some depth to their attack last weekend with the return of grad student
Zach Owens. The fifth-year Bonnie returned to the lineup for the first time since Feb. 18 during last weekend's A-10 opener after suffering a leg injury in the second game of the season. Saturday's goal was the 16
th of his career.
Â
ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOK
Redshirt freshman
Will McKay made a bit of Bonnies program history as he scored the first-ever Atlantic 10 goal for the Brown and White with the first goal of the game at Hobart. He joins teammate
Sean Westley who tallied the first goal in Division I program history at Saint Joseph's Feb. 9, 2019 and alum
Jackson Rose who tallied the first MAAC goal for the Bonnies at Manhattan Feb. 23, 2019 with other first scores in team history.
Â
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday will mark the fourth meeting between the Bonnies and Saint Joseph's in the sport of men's lacrosse and the first as A-10 foes. It is also the first game between the schools at the Marra Athletics Complex. Saint Joseph's has won all three previous meetings.
The Bonnies played at SJU in their second-ever D-I game in 2019, a 15-7 Hawks win in Philadelphia. The teams also met inside the Buffalo Bills ADPRO Training Center in February 2020 in the first-ever D-I game there.
Jake Rosa scored his first career goal less than 90 seconds in, but the Hawks would win, 15-8. Rosa would ultimately finish with four goals in his D-I debut that day.
Last year, the clubs met in the 2022 season-opener and the Bonnies led nearly wire-to-wire in Philly before the Hawks stunned the Bonnies with two goals in the final 20 seconds for a dramatic 12-11 victory.
Â
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S
- Saint Joseph's won its A-10 opener at home over Richmond last weekend, 14-12, in a matchup of two of the league's favorites. Last year's NEC champions, SJU's success begins at the faceoff X with All-American Zach Cole. The graduate student has won 180 faceoffs and picked up 121 groundballs this year. Carter Page leads the Hawks attack with 33 goals.
- The Hawks have scored 146 goals in 10 games, second only to High Point (165) among A-10 teams this spring.
- Cole leads the A-10 in both faceoff percentage (64%) and groundballs (121) while Carter Page paces the league in goals. Levi Anderson stands second with 27 tallies.
- Goalie Scott Macmillian has played in just five games, but his 7.32 GAA would be the A-10 lead.
