ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — An 81
st minute goal from sophomore
Olivia Allen helped St. Bonaventure women's soccer to their third draw of the season on Sunday against Detroit Mercy.
Despite controlling possession in the first half, the Bonnies trailed 1-0 at the break. In the 29
th minute, Natalia Sobh took advantage of a defensive giveaway from the Bonnies and floated a shot over Bona's keeper
Mackenzie Nolan who had come off her line.
Bonaventure led in total shots in the first frame, 6-1, with two coming off the foot of
Rachel Hutchison.
Sydney Hayward and Mckenna Robinson both put shots on target in the first as well.
A free kick in the 62
nd minute opened a scoring opportunity for
Ava Myers, but she couldn't find the back of the net as her attempt at the equalizer flew just wide.
Bonaventure finally secured the equalizer as time dwindled with
Chanel Alexander sending a ball into the box for Allen who put it away. The tally is Allen's first goal for the Brown and White as she played her freshman season at the University of Ottawa.
McKenna Robinson was also credited with an assist on the play marking the first points of the season for both players.
Chiara Gottinger came in for Bona's to play the second half in net.
Six different Bonnies recorded a shot with three on frame while five players saw the field for all 90 minutes.
The Bonnies round out their homestand with an evening game against Little Three rival Niagara on Thursday.
