The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team heads out on the road for the final time in 2024 to take on George Mason Saturday, Oct. 26 in Fairfax. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies battled Dayton last Saturday at the Marra Athletics Complex, but fell to the Flyers, 2-1.
Dayton grabbed the early lead in the 10th minute when Andrew Armstrong found the back of the net.
Bona's was quick to respond with the game-tying goal in the 21st minute following a long throw in from Keegan Dawson, leading to a Dayton own goal.
The Flyers, however, found the game-winning goal in the opening minutes of the second half and never relinquished their advantage.
FINAL STRETCH
The Bonnies have two games remaining in the 2024 campaign, including the season finale at home against Massachusetts Saturday, Nov. 2.
Bona's currently sits in the eighth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic 10 standings with eight points along with Dayton. Duquesne and George Mason sit atop the A-10 ranks with 15 points apiece while Saint Louis stands third with 12 points. Fordham rounds out the top four with 10 points.
GEORGE MASON NOTES
- George Mason enters the weekend 11-3 overall and 5-1 in Atlantic 10 play with its only conference loss coming against Duquesne. The Patriots are coming off a 4-1 win over Saint Joseph's last Saturday where they became the first team in the nation to 11 wins this season. George Mason finished last season 5-7-3 overall and 2-5-1 in A-10 play. The Patriots were picked to finish 10th in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
- Marek Gonda leads the Patriots this season with 18 points on eight goals and two assists. Quentin Clain has tallied 14 points for George Mason, netting five goals and dishing out four assists. In net, Jaume Salvado has made 13 starts, making 28 saves while allowing 14 goals for a 1.15 goals against average.

The Bonnies wrap up the 2024 regular season Saturday, Nov. 2 when they host Massachusetts. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.
