The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team travels to the nation's capital to take on George Washington Wednesday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at the GW Soccer Field.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies scored a thrilling 3-1 win over Davidson last Saturday at the Marra Athletics Complex.
Bona's jumped ahead early when Davidson's defense was charged with an own goal in the opening 20 seconds of the contest. The Wildcats, however, answered right back on a free kick in the sixth minute.
Senior Rashid Aroza came through off the bench just before halftime in the 44th minute, giving the Bonnies a lead they would not relinquish. Junior Dean Mercer found Aroza streaking behind the defense and Aroza slotted a shot to the bottom right hand corner of the net.
Redshirt junior Matta Ferretti added an insurance goal for the Brown and White in the 78th minute off a double assist from seniors Kenzo Brito and Umechi Akuazaoku.
AMONG THE A-10'S BEST
St. Bonaventure goalkeeper Nicolas Pucci ranks among some of the Atlantic 10's best goalkeepers this season statistically.
Pucci ranks second in the A-10 with 40 saves, third in saves per game at 4.0 and third in goalkeeper minutes at 900.
A native of Cary, N.C., Pucci has five games this season with five or more saves, including two contests with a season-best six saves.
SCORING LEADERS
Senior Andres Javitt leads the Bonnies this season with nine points on three goals and three assists. Fellow senior Umechi Akuazaoku sits second on the team with eight points, registering three goals and pair of assists. Rashid Aroza has also tallied multiple goals for the Brown and White this season.
GEORGE WASHINGTON NOTES
· George Washington enters Wednesday's contest 2-8-1 overall and is 0-3-0 to begin Atlantic 10 play. The Revolutionaries have dropped conference matchups to Duquesne (1-0), George Mason (5-2) and Dayton (7-1), but have captured wins over Saint Peter's and Navy in non-conference play. GW finished last season 4-9-4 overall and were picked to finish 12th in this year's Atlantic 10 preseason poll.
· Louis Crofts leads GW offensively in 2024 with three goals for six points. Jaden Dubon and William Turner are second on the squad with four points each. Dubon has tallied two goals while Turner has contributed a goal and an assist for the Revolutionaries. In net, Tom Macauley has started nine games, making 25 saves while Duncan Wegner has appeared in five contests, stopping nine shots.

The Bonnies remain on the road to take on La Salle Saturday, Oct. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Philadelphia.
