HOPKINTON, N.H. – Junior Mia Winters and freshman Miranda Habshi represented St. Bonaventure Friday morning at the NCAA Northeast Regional cross country championships run at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds.
Winters brought home a time of 22:32.0 on the 6K course layout to place 157th out of 272 competitors from around the region representing 40 colleges and universities.
In a year of great improvement for the third-year Bonnie, Friday's race represented jumps in both time and finish over last year's regional performance by Winters. She improved her finishing position by 26 positions and her time was over 23 seconds better than a year ago.
Habshi had the distinction of earning a qualifying spot in regional championships in her first collegiate season. She placed 243rd overall, crossing the finish line with a mark of 23:52.7.
