QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MIKE SMIECHOWSKI
"In my two years here, this was my favorite meet as the coach of our women's team. When you take over a rebuild, the hardest part is trying to build a championship culture at a place without a recent championship pedigree. We have a group of women that are capable of redefining women's swimming and diving at Bona's because of who they are as leaders and competitors. They have great character, enthusiasm for each other and accountability."
"This weekend showed me that we are capable of competing. We may not have won the meet, but we beat reigning MAAC champions Niagara who are incredibly well-coached and are a team with championship DNA. We comfortably beat Youngstown State who beat us earlier in the year in a dual meet and challenged the upper half of the teams who has teams that quite frankly have operated in a different tier of competition than our program the past 20 years."
UP NEXT
The Bonnies concluded the 2024 portion of their schedule Dec. 3 as they travel to Buffalo for a dual meet with Canisius.Â
