ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory over Little Three Rival Niagara Saturday afternoon at the SBU Tennis Center.

The Bonnies took an early lead, clinching the doubles points with wins at the top two spots.

The duo of Anastasia Gubanova and Isabella Venter bested Elena Mayet and Jaida Borg, 6-1, at the top flight while Sienna Smith and Cirkeline Lundberg defeated Maria Melo and Coral Rodriguez at No. 2, 6-1.

Moving into singles action, Lundberg captured a straight-set win at No. 1 over Mayet, 6-3, 6-4. Also winning in straight sets was Sienna Smith at No. 4 singles, defeating Borg, 6-3, 6-1.

At No. 3 singles, Venter clinched the win for the Brown and White, battling back from a set down to beat Melo, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2.

The Bonnies are back in action Sunday, Feb. 18 when they host Slippery Rock at the SBU Tennis Center. That match is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
