ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team earned its second win of the weekend, defeating Slippery Rock, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at the SBU Tennis Center.

The Bonnies jumped ahead early, taking the doubles point from The Rock with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.

Anastasia Gubanova and Isabella Venter bested Amaia Balaguer Brau and Nicole Kempton, 6-2, at the top flight while Cirkeline Lundberg and Abbie Tyler took down Dari Sakhanova and Leontina Slovak at No. 2 doubles, 6-1.

Moving into singles action, Lundberg, Gubanova, Tyler and Kelly Barnes all captured straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.

At No. 3 singles, Venter battled back from a set down to beat Sakhanova, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0.

The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, Feb. 24 when they travel to take on Western Michigan and Cleveland State in Cleveland.
