ST. BONAVENTURE (2-5) at PRESBYTERIAN (5-4)
Thursday – Saturday, Feb. 29 – March 2
Clinton, S.C.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
Note: Due to inclement weather in the forecast, the schedule for the series has been adjusted. The teams will now play a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday - game one will be set for seven innings and game two will be nine innings. The teams will then play one single nine-inning game on both Friday and Saturday.
SETTING THE STAGE
St. Bonaventure baseball heads to the state of South Carolina for the second time in three weekends, this time for a four-game series at Presbyterian beginning Thursday. The teams will play a single game on Thursday at 4 p.m. followed by a doubleheader Friday starting at noon before a get-away game on Saturday at noon.
THE ROAD SO FAR
The Bonnies are fresh off a four-game series at Louisville this past weekend with a pair of impressive results.
Bona scored a 4-3 win in the series opener on Friday in eight innings for the program's first win over a Power 5 program since 2019.
Chance Moore gave up three runs in the first inning, but locked it down from there with seven consecutive scoreless frames on the hill. In his first start with the Bonnies, the redshirt junior transfer did not walk a batter and struck out four, setting the stage for
Adam Rankie to come through with a double in the eighth to score
David Marshall Jr. from first with the winning run.
Louisville dominated the middle games of the series, 21-3 and 15-2, but the Bonnies had a great chance for another upset in Sunday's finale. Bona led through four, then rallied from a 9-4 deficit with five in the eighth for an 11-10 lead. The bullpen couldn't hold, though, as the Cardinals scored eight times in the eighth to pull away for the series win.
It was Bona's first series at a Power 5 opponent since 2007 at Duke. The win in the first game of the series was the team's first game against an ACC foe since defeating Boston College in Florida, 15-14, in extra innings back in 2008.
The Bonnies opened the season with a trip to Charleston, S.C. for three games at The Citadel. After a 14-2 setback on Opening Day, SBU responded for a 22-10 win in the second game for the most runs the program has scored in a game since 2014. In the finale, the Bonnies also had a great chance to win the series, leading with nine outs to go before the Bulldogs rallied for the win.

They swept Saint Peter's to begin the year in a four-game series, then lost to No. 9 Clemson (8-2) and Canisius (8-6) before bouncing back with a home win over A-10 opponent Saint Joseph's, 3-2, in 10 innings last Saturday and lost to Quinnipiac on Sunday.
- Senior infielder Brody Fahr and fifth-year right-handed pitcher Tanner Smith were both named to the All-Big South Preseason Team and Presbyterian was picked sixth in the Big South Preseason Poll. Smith was also picked to the NCBWA Preseason Stopper of the Year Watchlist as one of the top relievers in college baseball. He struck out 53 in 37.1 innings last year.
- Fahr has been red-hot to begin the year, hitting .600 (15-for-25) with 12 RBIs. Junior infielder Joe Dragoo checks in at .517 with six homers and 22 RBIs through just nine games. Presbyterian has scored 80 runs in their first nine contests.
