ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse junior
Fiona McGovern has been selected to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team. The All-Conference Team is voted on by the league's coaches.
McGovern has had an impressive first two years with the Brown and White.
She earned a spot on the A-10 All-Rookie Team following her freshman season in 2022, and in 2023 she more than tripled her scoring from the year before, tallying 47 goals and 23 assists for 70 points.
Her outstanding sophomore year represented the fourth-most points from a St. Bonaventure player in a single season. She sits behind Molly Hastrich, '10, who had 77 and 71 points in 2009 and 2010, and Kelly Chavez, '05 who scored 72 points in 2004.
The Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. native has left her mark all over the Bona's record book, climbing to 21
st in career points (86) and 18
th in career assists (26) in just 31 games.
Other attackers picked to the all-conference team are Julianne Carey of Davidson, Fiona McGowan and Charlotte Wilmoth of Massachusetts, and Colleen Quinn from Richmond.
In the A-10's preseason poll, the Bonnies were selected to finish seventh with 45 points. Bona was picked behind George Washington (48) and VCU (49) while Richmond was picked as the preseason favorite followed by Massachusetts and Saint Joseph's.
The Bonnies start their season Feb. 14 at Akron.
