ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team celebrated Senior Day with a 5-2 victory over Siena Friday morning at the SBU Tennis Center.

The Bonnies were able to take an early lead, grabbing the doubles points from the Saints with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.

At the top spot, Anastasia Gubanova and Isabella Venter teamed up for a 6-1 victory over Emma Boggiali and Alexa Wilson. Kashish Bote and Kelly Barnes captured a 7-5 win against Zaara Omar and Shelby Madeiros at No. 3.

Moving into singles, Gubanova battled back from a set down to defeat Laia Giralt at No. 2, 3-6, 7-6, 6-1. Venter was also victorious in three sets at the top flight, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3, over Alexa Wilson.

Sienna Smith clinched the team victory with a win at No. 4 singles, taking down Manuela Gomez in three sets, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4.

Bote also picked up a singles win after her opponent was forced to retire due to injury in the second set.

The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, March 30 when they take on George Mason in Fairfax, Va.
