HENRICO, Va. – The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team fell to Dayton, 66-52, in the first round of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Tournament Wednesday afternoon.
Isabellah Middleton paced the Bonnies with 15 points ad eight rebounds while Tianna Johnson tallied 14 points for the Brown and White.
It was a back-and-forth first quarter with neither team able to take control of the contest.
A basket from Middleton put the Bonnies up four, 12-8, midway through the period.
Dayton ended the first with five unanswered points, taking a 20-17 edge into the second.
The Flyers extended it to a 9-0 run to take 24-17 advantage coming out of the timeout.
The Bonnies were held to 2-for-11 from the field in the second as Dayton took a 34-25 lead into halftime.
Coming out of the break, Dayton scored the half's first five points, pushing its lead to double digits, 36-25, and growing the lead to as many as 16 in the third.
Dayton maintained its double-digit lead in the fourth, earning the first round victory.
The Bonnies finish the season 4-26 overall.
