ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University softball team dropped the series finale to Fordham, 17-1, Sunday afternoon at Joyce Field.
With her two strikeouts Sunday, Bonnies senior Emily Phelan became the third player in program history to reach 300 career strikeouts.
The Rams jumped ahead of the Bonnies in the top of the second, scoring three in the inning on a pair of singles and an error.
Fordham broke the game open in the top of the fourth, scoring nine in the frame and taking a 12-0 lead.
Kennedy Haberl pulled one back for the Bonnies in the bottom half of the fourth with an RBI double that scored Emily McKenna from first.
The Rams, however, plated five more runs in the fifth putting the game out of reach for good.
The Bonnies are back in action Wednesday, April 24 on the road at Dayton. First pitch is slated for 2:00 p.m.
