ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The 2024-25 recruiting class for the St. Bonaventure men's basketball program adds another impressive newcomer with the signing of 6-3 guard Dasonte Bowen, a transfer who has played at Iowa the past two seasons.

A native of Boston, Bowen played in 51 career games with the Hawkeyes including eight starts this season. He posted 4.4 points, 2.0 assists and 1.3 rebounds this year and scored in double figures four times while registering five or more assists in three contests.

"Dasonte is a quick guard and open court attacker. He can score the ball at all three levels," St. Bonaventure head coach Mark Schmidt said. "He played and started games at the high major level for two years and gained a lot of good experience. We see Dasonte pairing well with Jonah Hinton, playing in the backcourt together for the next couple years. We're looking forward to welcoming Dasonte to the Bonnies this summer."

Bowen posted a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio with 49 assists and 16 turnovers this past year. He shot nearly 40 percent overall from the floor and recorded a career-high 17 points vs. Arkansas State. As a freshman, he recorded a season-high 12 points vs. Duke in Madison Square Garden while handing out four assists in his first college game vs. Wisconsin.

Prior to college, he played prep at Brewster Academy where he averaged 15.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting nearly 53 percent from the field and over 47 percent from 3-point land.
