ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Morgan Little's two-run bomb in the sixth inning broke a tie and helped send the St. Bonaventure baseball team to a 5-3 victory over Fordham Thursday afternoon at Handler Park.
Fordham led, 3-1, heading for the home half of the fifth when the Bonnies rallied.
Little and Jackson DeJohn led off the inning with back-to-back singles, moving up on a sacrifice bunt from Kyle Caccamise. Adam Rankie then smacked a high chopper into left center to plate a run before a delayed double steal allowed DeJohn to swipe home for the tie.
An inning later, Little followed a Robert Mannino single with a no-doubt blast to left for his sixth homer of the season and Bona's first lead of the day.
The Bonaventure bullpen made the lead stick.
Bobby Finn escaped trouble with two runners aboard in the seventh and eighth innings before Tristan Ciampa worked around a leadoff single in the ninth to lock down the win.
Rankie went 4-for-4 for his 21st multi-hit game of the season and second four-hit contest.
Michael Salina started and worked five innings, allowing two earned runs with three strikeouts and one walk. Finn picked up his third win of the season with three innings of scoreless relief while Ciampa recorded his fourth save by pitching the ninth.
Daniel Bucciero also had a 4-for-4 day for the Rams as both teams' leadoff men were perfect at the plate.
The two teams will meet up early on Friday morning as the game time has been moved up to 10 a.m. due to rain in the forecast.
