ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure baseball team has earned accolades from the American Baseball Coaches Association, receiving the 2023-24 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.

The Bonnies garnered a cumulative team GPA of 3.30 during the academic year. A total of 29 Bonnies Baseball student-athletes own cumulative GPAs of better than 3.0 while 16 members of the team have accumulated a GPA of better than 3.5.

"Our student-athletes make academics a priority. They put the effort in to make sure they're staying ahead in the classroom," St. Bonaventure head coach Jason Rathbun said. "But it is a team effort – without the help of the faculty this couldn't be possible. We are on the road so much during the season and it is a collaborative effort between our student-athletes, the outstanding faculty at St. Bonaventure and our academic support team to ensure that our guys are reaching their goals in the classroom. It continues to show why St. Bonaventure is an excellent choice for student-athletes to achieve their goals."

St. Bonaventure has been recognized with the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award in two of the past three seasons, also receiving the honor in 2022.
