BRONX – Zoe Shaw's 22 points and Caitlin Frost's 13-point, 10-rebound double-double were not enough as the St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team came up just short on the road at Fordham Saturday afternoon, falling to the Rams, 51-49.
Shaw finished the game 9-for-14 from the field to go with five rebounds in 39 minutes. Frost shot 5-for-11 from the field, including a three in 32 minutes. Dani Haskell and Hannah Richardson chipped in seven points each for the Brown and White.

Back-to-back scores from Taylor Donaldson and an Irene Murua free throw with under two minutes to play gave the hosts a 50-47 advantage.
With 30 seconds to play, Frost was fouled and sent to the line. The freshman made both, pulling the Bonnies within one.
Donaldson made one of two at the line after the Bonnies were forced to foul, making it a 51-49 game and giving the Bonnies a chance to win or tie the game with 27 seconds on the clock.
On the final possession, Frost had an open look on the wing from three-point range with one second to play, but the shot bounced out, giving the Rams the two-point victory.

A 10-2 run with five points from Shaw gave the Brown and White a 15-8 lead midway through the first period.Â
Donaldson's 3-pointer made it a 15-11 game, but the Bonnies held the Rams scoreless for over five minutes between the first and second quarters, building a 19-11 lead.Â

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH JIM CROWLEY
"From the last three games, I thought we put a consistent effort together. We defended well. We only broke down defensively a few times and we made them beat us. Donaldson had the two pretty big shots at the end. We had a couple good looks that didn't fall, but we didn't do anything to beat ourselves today."
"This is a good ball club. While I think we've been good in close games, this is the first one we've lost. It's different when you're on the road and a conference opponent. You've been on the road all week, it's the first week of classes and you've played three straight games where things haven't gone great. When you put all of that together and to see the resiliency here when you're playing with so many first-time kids, I'm really proud of them."
