Bonnies Women’s Swim and Dive Earns Multiple Wins at Cleveland State Dual

CLEVELAND, OH – The St. Bonaventure women's swim and dive team delivered a strong performance at Cleveland State, collecting multiple individual wins and relay victories across the two-day meet. Despite falling to the Vikings, 157–143, the Bonnies posted standout efforts from underclassmen and program veterans alike.

Freshman Kate Hill continued to shine, winning the 100-freestyle (52.38), finishing runner-up in the 50-free (24.11), and contributing to the winning 400-freestyle relay team (3:31.73) alongside Sophie Baker, Laila Chance, and Nele Vetter.

Baker also claimed victories of her own, taking first in the 100-backstroke (56.03) and 100-butterfly (58.40) while earning a third-place finish in the 50-free (24.59).

Junior Anna Bojana Forjan posted wins in the 200-backstroke (2:04.53) and 200-individual medley (2:10.68) while adding a fourth-place finish in the 100-breaststroke (1:09.42).

Senior Katie Beyer captured the top spot in the 200-freestyle (1:54.72) and added a runner-up mark in the 200-back (2:07.75). Teammate Chance was third in the 200-free (1:55.87) and fourth in the 100-free (54.55) while Freshman Cameron Darnell added a podium finish in the 200-fly (2:11.82).

In distance events, Phoebe McClaren placed second in the 1650-free (17:18.29) and 500-free (5:10.66), while Alessandra Ren took third in the 500-free (5:13.16).

The Bonnies earned key relay points as the 200-medley relay team of Daciana Colon, Paris Christie, Vetter, and Forjan placed third (1:50.59), and the second Bona's 400-free relay of Beyer, Mia Hill, Maris Sadowski, and Sarah Gonzalez placed third (3:41.07).

On the boards, sophomore Dhavgely Mendoza was runner-up in both the 1-meter (241.80) and 3-meter dives (260.63), while freshman Lia Doskoris finished fourth on each.

"Women swam awesome again. Our record isn't reflective of our performance. We have some holes in events, but ultimately this meet proves we have the ability to compete at the top half of the A10 in a championship meet format."

The Bonnies will cap off their opening bout of road meets next weekend at Niagara.
