The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team continues its three-game homestand when it hosts Buffalo Wednesday, Nov. 19. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the Reilly Center.

TIPPING OFF
The Bonnies remained undefeated and completed the Little Three sweep, taking down Canisius 66-61 Friday night at the Reilly Center.

Aaliyah Parker posted her first double-double as a Bonnie with a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds while Laycee Drake chipped in 13 points, four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block. Kylie Buckley also finished in double figures for the Brown and White with 10 points and four rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench.

Bona's trailed early, 11-2, before battling back to take a 14-13 lead after the first quarter horn.

Canisius made seven out of its first eight shots to open the second half, taking a 40-38 lead midway through the third.

The Bonnies trailed 44-42 before Parker tied the game with a shot in the lane and that would be the last time Bona's would trail, ending the third on a 9-1 run to take a 51-45 lead.

Parker, Buckley and Ivona Djikanovic all converted free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

GETTING TO THE LINE
The Bonnies are shooting 70.6 percent (60-for-85) from the free throw line this season. They are averaging 15.0 made free throws per game which ranks first in the Atlantic 10.

CRASHING THE GLASS
Bona's is averaging 42.3 rebounds per game this season, ranking fourth in the Atlantic 10. The Brown and White have grabbed 40 or more rebounds in three out of four games and currently sit second in the A-10 with a +12.0 rebounding margin.

EVERYBODY EATS
Through four games this season, the Bonnies are averaging 34.3 bench points per game. That mark ranks second in the Atlantic 10 behind Duquense (41.8) and also ranks 24th in the NCAA.

The Bonnies have six players averaging 5.0 or more points per game – Laycee Drake (17.0), Aaliyah Parker (11.0), Mallory Heise (7.8), Ivona Djikanovic (7.3), Brillana Boyd (5.8) and Elyse MacDonough (5.3).

FIRST TIME SINCE…
Bonnies men's and women's basketball are both 4-0 to begin the season for the first time since the 1992-93 season.

Women's basketball is on a four-game winning streak for the first time since the 2015-16 season. That team went on to win 16 games in a row before earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

BUFFALO NOTES

  • Buffalo enters Wednesday's matchup 1-3 on the year but are coming off a 67-59 win over Fordham Sunday afternoon. The Bulls finished last season 30-7 overall and 13-5 in Mid-American Conference play. Buffalo went on to win the WNIT Championship in 2024-25. The Bulls were picked to finish 11th in the MAC preseason poll.
  • Kristen Sharkey is in her first season at the helm of the Bulls following Becky Burke's departure for Arizona this past spring. Sharkey spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Syracuse and seven years prior at UB, all under head coach Felicia Legette-Jack.
  • Paula Lopez leads the Bulls in scoring to begin the season, averaging 15.8 points per game and is coming off a 19-point performance against Fordham. On the glass, Meg Lucas has pulled down a team-best 40 rebounds, averaging 10.0 per contest to go along with 8.8 points.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bonnies and Bulls are set to meet for the 36th time Wednesday evening. Bona's holds a slight edge over Buffalo in the all-time series, 18-17, but the Bulls have won eight straight matchups dating back to the 2016-17 season.

The Brown and White last defeated the Bulls during the 2015-16 season, 59-32, during the Bonnies' 16-game winning streak.

Bonnies head coach Jim Crowley is 8-4 against Buffalo all-time.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies close out a three-game homestand when they host UAlbany at the Reilly Center Saturday, Nov. 22. Tipoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at the Reilly Center.

During halftime of Saturday's game, the Bonnies will honor the 1986-87 and 2015-16 women's basketball teams. The 1986-87 team was the program's first Division I team while the 2015-16 team in celebrating 10 years since earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
