ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Men's swimming junior Joseph Pyon and women's diving sophomore Dhav Mendoza have been named the GoBonnies.com Student-Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Nov. 23.

Both honorees put together strong individual performances this past week at the Magnus Cup hosted by Cleveland State.

Pyon set a new Magnus Cup record in the 50-fly, clocking in at 21.40 to claim a victory and the fastest time to date in the Atlantic 10. The BYU transfer also contributed to three podium finishes in relay action, helping the Bonnies to place third in both the 200-free relay (1:21.50) and the 200-medley relay (1:28.30) and second in the 400-free relay (2:58.02).

The Gainsville, Fla. native rounded out his successful week with two fourth-place finishes in both the 200-fly (1:48.68) and the 100-fly (48.09).

Mendoza hit a groove early in diving competition, resulting in two podium placements of her own. On the 1-meter board, she scored 272.10 points, which was good for second place and the third-ranking score in the A-10 thus far on the season. On the 3-meter board, she collected a victory with a conference-best 305.10 points.

A native of Venezuela, she has already qualified for NCAA Diving Zones on both boards this season.

St. Bonaventure men's and women's swimming and diving now enters the mid-season break as the teams are off until Saturday, Jan. 10 when the Bonnies return to action with a dual meet at Cornell.
