ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – All 14 players scored as the St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team defeated Mansfield, 82-34, Monday evening in the Bonnies' season opener at the Reilly Center.

Graduate student Laycee Drake paced all scorers with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go along with four rebounds and two assists. Junior Kaylee Krysztof tallied nine points off the bench for the Brown and White while adding five rebounds. The Mountaineers got off to a quick start, taking an early 5-0 lead.

The Bonnies closed the half on a 15-4 spurt to take a 42-10 lead into the locker room. They continued to roll in the third quarter, pushing the lead to as many as 52 points when Barr-Buday's shot fell at the buzzer.

Mansfield outscored the Bonnies, 18-14, in the fourth, but the deficit was too much to overcome as Bona's secured the season-opening victory.

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH JIM CROWLEY
"Obviously there were a lot of good things. Everybody contributed in a very positive way. I thought we shared the ball really well and I thought we were able to get to the paint consistently. There were times our defensive execution was good. We improved on some things that we had talked about from last Wednesday."

UP NEXT
The Bonnies head out on the road for the first time in the new season, traveling to take on Little Three rival Niagara Friday, Nov. 7. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 p.m.
