ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Seven home games highlight the 2026 St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse schedule.
New head coach Brendan Storrier's club will, however, make their debut with a string of three consecutive road games to start the slate against three familiar foes.
The new season kicks off Sunday, Feb. 1 when the Bonnies make the trip to VMI to take on a Keydets squad coming off an impressive 2025 season. VMI posted a 10-4 record last year and moved to 2-2 all-time vs. the Bonnies with a win in last year's opener.
The following weekend, the Bonnies make the trip to Pennsylvania to face Bucknell. The Bison won the first-ever meeting between the programs last season.
Bona's season-opening road swing wraps up on Valentine's Day with a trip across the Southern Tier to play at Binghamton. The Bonnies and Bearcats have played three times previously, with all three meetings going to Binghamton in overtime.
SBU finally opens at home with the start of a three-game homestand as the Bonnies host Robert Morris on Feb. 17. The Colonials finished last season at 11-6 and captured the NEC championship with a 6-1 conference record. Bona took RMU to the wire on the road in an 8-7 heartbreaker last year outside Pittsburgh.
Two consecutive Tuesday afternoon dates are on deck as Bellarmine comes to Western New York, continuing a longstanding series between the two programs. Bellarmine went 8-9 last year and reached the Atlantic Sun Tournament.
The homestand closes Saturday, Feb. 28 when the Bonnies battle Le Moyne on home turf for the first time. The Dolphins snuck out a 10-9 win in Syracuse last year as part of a 9-6 campaign that included a 6-1 mark in NEC play.
March begins with the final three games of non-conference play, starting with a trip to Erie, Pa. for a date at Mercyhurst (March 3). Bona won the first meeting between the programs last year, 11-9, at the Marra Complex.
The final conference tune-ups include two more opponents the Bonnies have history with in Cleveland State (March 7) and Canisius (March 10). The Bonnies won last year's meeting with the Vikings at home, 8-6, to even the all-time series at 3-3 and will travel to the Buckeye State for this year's game. In the non-conference finale, the Bonnies will host Canisius, a squad they have played more than any other. Bona has won the last two games vs. the Griffs to own a 4-3 advantage during the program's Division I era.
This year's Atlantic 10 slate opens at Saint Joseph's (March 14) and also includes road trips to High Point (April 4) and A-10 newcomer Delaware (April 18). Bona is set for A-10 home games vs. UMass (March 28), defending league champion Richmond (April 11) and the season finale vs. Hobart (April 25).
An already extremely competitive Atlantic 10 Conference only gets stronger with the addition of Delaware this season. Last year, three A-10 squads finished the year in the top 30 of the national RPI rankings, making it one of the top conferences in the country. Delaware has appeared in eight NCAA Tournaments including most recently in back-to-back seasons of 2022 and 2023 as the Coastal Athletic Association champion.
The top four teams from the regular season standings will advance to the Atlantic 10 Tournament April 30-May 2 in Richmond.Â
